Face Lift

facelift, also know as rhytidectomy, is performed alone or with a neck lift. Facelift surgery, along with breast augmentation, liposuction and eyelid surgery, (link to procedures) ranks amongst the most popular surgery choices. A facelift rejuvenates the sagginess in the middle of the face and jowls. When combined with a neck lift, the entire face and neck is rejuvenated resulting in drastic improvement of the signs of aging in the entire face and neck area.

What Is A Facelift?

Face lift surgery, is a surgical procedure to correct the aging face, it covers the lower eyelids area, improving the deep wrinkles, down to the folds running on both sides of the nose, and the corners of the mouth. In order to achieve this, Dr. Rostami will be placing her incision around the ears and down to the hairline. This will allow her to lift the skin from the face and cheeks, re-drape it and then trim the excess skin. The result is a smooth, tight and rejuvenated face and jawline.

Do You Need A Facelift?

You are a candidate for a facelift surgery if you complain of the following:

  • Have sagging facial skin in the lower two-thirds of your face
  • Have lost skin elasticity to your lower face that left you with sagging jowls and cheeks
  • Have lost fat in your face that has left you with loose empty facial skin
  • Have deep wrinkles and under your lower lids

Mid Facelift: A mid facelift concentrates more on the triangular area formed between the two corners of the eyes and the corner of the mouth. By working on the deeper layers of your face, Dr. Rostami repositions the underlying fat and muscles so that the middle of your face is pulled up while still looking natural. A mid facelift can be done alone or along with a traditional facelift.

Lower Facelift:  A lower facelift is perfect for the jowls, frown lines, wrinkles and loose facial skin. Incisions are limited to the front and back part of the ears making recovery easier than traditional facelift.

Mini Facelift:  Ideal for patients with less severe wrinkling and sagging of the facial skin and jowls. It is a less invasive procedure with an approach of smaller incisions and requiring less recovery time.

Q & A

What are the benefits of facelift surgery?

Healthy patients, men or women, between the ages of 35-70, can best reap the benefits of a facelift. Your results are enhanced when you have realistic expectations, adding to your self-confidence and a feeling of well-being.

What are the risks of facelift lift surgery?

As with any type of surgical procedure, infection, unfavorable scarring, bleeding, skin loss, and swelling are some of the risks associated with facelift surgery. Risks of anesthesia should be discussed with your anesthesiologist. Risks that are specific to facelift surgery would be discussed with you at the time of your consultation.

What is the cost associated with facelift surgery?

The cost of your surgery will vary from one surgeon to another and depends on whether your surgeon’s fee is inclusive of anesthesia and facility charges. Your fee will also depend on your surgeon’s experience and location. Due to the variables that could affect the fee quoted, most surgeons will only quote a fee at the time of consultation.
