The Facial Fat Transfer Procedure
Facial fat transfer begins by performing liposuction on an area of the body like the stomach, hips, upper arms, or thighs. Liposuction is typically performed under local anesthesia or sedation, depending on the specifics of your procedure. Once enough fat has been collected, it will be prepared and purified to ensure the best chances of survival for the fat cells. The fat is then injected into the face in areas where you want more volume. Afterward, you can return home to recover.
Facial Fat Transfer Results
Facial fat transfer can produce immediate results, but it will take one to two weeks to fully recover and for swelling to begin subsiding. Dr. Rostami will provide detailed aftercare instructions on how to eat, sleep, and keep the area clean. You may feel some initial stiffness in the implants, but they’ll soften over time to function just like natural lip tissue.
