LIQUID LOWER EYELID BLEPHAROPLASTY

Brighten and Lift Eye Bags Without Surgery

What is a Liquid Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty?

Eye bags are pockets of fat and tissue that collect underneath your eyes. They may look puffy or saggy and almost always increase with age. As you age, the skin and connective tissue surrounding your eyes begin to relax, causing fat that typically supports the eyes to accumulate under the lower lids. Bags under the eyes are rarely a cause for concern, but they can diminish your confidence and self-esteem. The liquid lower eyelid blepharoplasty is a completely nonsurgical way to rejuvenate this area without downtime or recovery.

Why Sanctuary Cosmetic Center?

No matter how many eye masks you try, they may not be a match for puffy eye bags. Our team at Sanctuary Cosmetic Center understands how much bags under your eyes can change your appearance. That’s why they offer several nonsurgical treatments at our state-of-the-art offices around the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Am I A Good Candidate for a Liquid Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty?

The first step in treating eye bags is figuring out what caused them. Once our team reviews your family and medical history, evaluates any medications or supplements you take, and examines your eyes, they can recommend the right treatment for you.

While the most common cause of bags underneath the eyes is age due to the natural loss of fat and collagen, other causes include:

Thyroid eye disease

Thyroid eye disease can cause severe inflammation of the eyelids, eye muscles, and tissue behind the eye. Many people with the condition struggle with “bulging eyes” that look puffy and uncomfortable. Without treatment, inflammation and fluid retention may lead to bags collecting beneath the eyes.

Smoking

Tobacco products produce substances that can damage the skin’s elasticity surrounding your eyes. Smoking also disrupts sleep patterns, leading to increased fluid retention beneath the eyes.

Poor sleep

Sleep gives your body a chance to recover and repair damage. Without healthy sleep patterns, fluids can build up throughout your body, giving the skin beneath your eyes a puffy appearance.

Genetics

Many people with severe bags under their eyes are genetically predisposed to the condition. This is particularly true if you have noticeable eye bags in your 20s or 30s.

Benefits of a Liquid Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty

Unlike traditional surgical procedures, the liquid lower eyelid blepharoplasty requires no downtime. Many patients wish to avoid surgery for this area, making it an excellent alternative.

The Liquid Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty Procedure

Dr. Rostami is a national trainer for injectable fillers to reduce the appearance of puffy bags underneath the eyes. Sanctuary Cosmetic Center offers both Juvéderm® and Restylane®, injectable fillers  proven to treat eye bags. As an experienced cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Rostami aims to perform every procedure with as little trauma as possible. That’s why she injects fillers with a cannula, a blunt-tipped tube that can’t penetrate the skin.

Traditionally, physicians use needles to inject fillers because they offer deeper penetration of the filler. However, they’re less indiscriminate than cannulas, which increases their risk of passing through veins and arteries. Because needles are extremely sharp, they typically lead to more bruising and swelling than a cannula.

When injecting a filler, Dr. Rostami punctures the skin with a needle and passes the cannula through the access hole before releasing the injection. This results in minimal bruising, swelling, and overall damage to the skin.

Liquid Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty Results

Dermal filler treatments produce instant results, although you may have some residual redness and sensitivity for the next few hours. Dermal fillers can take 1-2 weeks to fully settle and produce final results. Depending on the product, results can last for around one year.
