What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a dermal filler that’s unlike any other. Instead of using hyaluronic acid fillers to boost facial volume and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable that uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to gradually boost natural collagen production over time, firming and smoothing the cheek region, contouring the jawline, filling in deep wrinkles, and providing you with a younger-looking appearance.
Am I a Good Candidate for Sculptra Treatment?
Most patients who are looking to address volume loss or visible signs of aging are good candidates for Sculptra. You should also be in good overall health, have realistic expectations of treatment, be a nonsmoker, and be willing to stick to a quality skincare regimen. It’s also perfect for patients who want an alternative to surgical procedures.
During your consultation, we’ll examine your skin, review your medical history, listen to your concerns, and build a customized treatment plan that fits your needs.
Benefits of Sculptra
Sculptra comes with a variety of benefits. Because it’s FDA-approved, you can count on it being a safe and effective treatment. It also allows you to achieve a more youthful appearance and meet your cosmetic and aesthetic goals by treating deep wrinkles, fine lines, and volume loss. On top of that, while the results appear gradually over time, they are long-lasting and will stick around for up to two years.
The Sculptra Procedure
The Sculptra procedure is relatively straightforward. We’ll start by cleansing the treatment area, and, if necessary, we can also apply a topical anesthetic to ensure your comfort. From there, your provider will mark the injection sites and, using a very fine needle, inject the Sculptra formula underneath the skin. How many injections you need and how long your treatment session takes will depend on your skin concerns and the results you’re looking for. Many patients will need multiple sessions to achieve their optimal results.

Sculptra Results
After your Sculptra injections, you will likely experience some redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection sites. These side effects will dissipate within a day or two. You’ll want to avoid putting pressure on the treatment area, but you can return to your normal activities immediately.
As for the results, it will take a few weeks (typically 4-6 weeks) before you see noticeable improvements, as the body needs time to stimulate collagen production and needs time to build up in the skin. These results will last for up to two years, and re-treatment will be needed to maintain your results.
